Uganda safari destinations and National Parks

Africa is a land of contrast and intrigue. It is a melting pot of diverse cultures and people, of awe-inspiring beauty and majestic landscapes, where wild animals roam freely in their natural habitat.

Explore the fascinating “Pearl of Africa” and all her riches on a Uganda tour on one of tailor made safari itinerary for African Safaris Travel. The safari destinations in Uganda, especially the national parks are situated in one of the many remote locations south and north of equatorial East Africa.

There are some places you would go to on a safari and then there are places that make the safari special. With so many things to do and see, Uganda is provided as a true safari destination with national parks comprising of Murchison falls, Bwindi gorilla forest, Queen Elizabeth wildlife park and Kibale forest popular for chimpanzee tracking safari. Other safari parks / destinations are; Lake Mburo safari park, Lake Bunyonyi, Semliki national park, Kidepo valley, mountains Rwenzori and Elgon for hiking, Mgahinga gorilla park. The great River Nile, Ssese Islands, Ngamba Chimp Islands, birding sites, sipi falls and much more since the list is endless.

A gorilla safari at Bwindi and Mgahinga forest parks, is undoubtedly the top preferred tour for all most any tourist to Uganda. Uganda is the only country where the endangered mountain gorilla can be seen in its natural habitat. Uganda hosts more than half of the remaining mountain gorillas in the world. A permit for a gorilla costs US $500 and must always be booked in advance since the number of people allowed to see these creatures is always limited.

Personal tastes will affect your itinerary a great deal, and we would recommend that you make your choices taking into consideration your need for comfort or your ability and desire to rough it, in case of adventure.
